O-ring seals attach to the top of the vacuum body, working with centering rings and outer rings to create an airtight seal for maintaining proper suction. Older vacuum seals, which push up into the motor housing, tend to fall out easily with age and should be replaced with newer styles. O-rings are available in materials like Viton, NBR, and Silicon, with brown and black being the most common colors.
Centering rings feature a rubber elastomer O-ring. Standard sizes for quick flange fittings are KF-10, KF-16, KF-25, KF-40, and KF-50, corresponding to flange sizes NW-10, NW-16, NW-25, NW-40, and NW-50. Made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel with Viton® O-rings (known for excellent heat resistance up to 400°F/200°C and resistance to aggressive fuels and chemicals), they belong to the KF
Vacuum Flanges & Components series.
